Paradox TZF An original design, it's not a clone of anything. The first and only flanger of it's kind. Through-zero-flanging was done in the 60's using a pair of analog tape decks. Stomp box flangers were never able to produce the authentic tape flanging sound, the part where it goes over the top, the best part! The orgasm. Here are some examples of through-zero-flanging. Hendrix - Axis bold as love, Midnight, House burning down, Gypsies Eyes, Have you ever been, Queen - Keep yourself alive, Eagles - Life in the fast lane, Doobie Bros - Listen to the music, Lenny Kravitz - Are you gonna go my way, Black girl, Stop draggin' around (Lenny - you asked me for this pedal back in '93 - contact me!), Small Faces - Itchykoo park, Joe Walsh - The confessor (Joe rules!..what a f*cken incredible song!).
Serious flanging Paradox TZF meant for people who are serious about flanging. If you just need a swirly, tubular sound, your garden variety $40 flanger will do just fine. But if you've been on an endless quest for that magical flanging sound, a sound you only hear on recordings from the 60s and 70s, this baby is for you! Follow the links below to hear audio clips.
Price - $369.00 Paradox TZF relies on Bucket-brigade analog delay chips, which are becoming harder to find and they can vary in price. This could affect the price and availability of this product in the future.
Size Paradox TZF is about the same size as the CC2 but not as wide. About 7" wide, 6.5" long and 3" tall.
Power Paradox TZF comes with a power supply for
USA.
The TZF uses 9 Volts AC (not DC), cannot use a normal 9V DC power supply.
The Voodoo Labs PedalPower2 will not work either, it does not have a true
9VAC output. But now there is a PedalPower AC available,
see my Voodoo Labs page for more info. Each TZF comes with a 9VAC adaptor
for 120V USA power.
You should be able to find a 9V AC power supply for
your country, many games and toys use this style of adaptor.
Also any line6 (modeler, POD, etc) or DOD whammy pedal type adaptor will
work, it needs 9V AC (not dc) output at 500mA or more,
with a 2.5mm power plug. There is a 9vac adaptor available
on buyanalogman.com for USA voltage.
You can also plug the
TZF's adaptor into the AC outlet on the back of the pedal power2.
The JUICEBOX power supply does have an actual 9V AC output so that
one can be used to power the TZF directly.
